The Sour Patch Kids

Don’t tell me that you haven’t heard of the Sour Patch kids! That look on your face says it all. Before I go into that though, what will you be having? We serve breakfast all day, and the chef has been on a streak of making some unusually tasty food lately. Thinking of food, you’re probably thinking of that food candy from the planet Earth known as sour patch. In this world they are terrifying creatures with a habit of stirring up some of the worst nightmares you could ever have. Eating good food is one way of keeping your psychological defenses up in case you ever have to face ‘em but hopefully, you never have to.

Yea, I have faced my fair share of Sour Patches, but the strange thing about fighting them is the scars they leave. Your body remembers the trembling, the shaking, the quaking, the sweat, the yelling, but you yourself never come off with so much as a scratch to point at. Most people never actually see Sour Patches either, they just know everything is okay when the nightmares stop. It’s only after one gets older they realize that they weren’t hallucinating, and that the Sour Patch kids are real. The fact that the living from planet Earth turned them into a delicacy is some one-of-a-kind irony.

You… probably want to know how to defeat one of them don’t you? I’m impressed, but anxious at the same time. Even in this world people don’t typically want to even deal with the issues they come with. But the way you do it is, you have to look at it. That is all you have to do. Once you truly see a Sour Patch, it disappears into the void, never to be seen again. Some pesky creature I say. Incredible amount of trouble it causes for all the instant, sudden quiet that comes right after. Trust me, once you learn the difference, that is when things change.

Anyway, Happy Festivals! This time of the year is my favorite. The seasons, the colors, the lights, and people just seem to brighten up more than usual. And it would do no good to not decorate the place. Take a look around! Do you like it?
